Instant Dhokla

Instant Dhokla


Ingredients


Semolina (Rava/Sooji) – 1 cup
Yoghurt/ Curd – ½ cup
Salt – 1 tsp
Soda-bi-carb – ½ tsp
Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
Curry leaves – A few
Oil – 1 tbsp
Black pepper powder -  ¼ tsp

Procedure 

  1. Mix together semolina, yoghurt, soda and salt.
  2. Grease plate and keep it in steamer.
  3. When it becomes a little warm, pour half the batter in it. (see to it that it spreads properly.)
  4. Sprinkle black pepper over the batter.
  5. Steam it for 5-7 minutes.
  6. You can check by inserting a toothpick. If it comes clean, then its ready to be removed.
  7. Heat oil in a pan.
  8. Splutter mustard seeds.
  9. Add curry leaves and immediately pour it over the dhoklas.
  10. Repeat the process for the remaining batter. (Serve hot.)
